Are you ready for the challenge? This year's Shimen Reservoir Cycling Event is about to begin!

The total distance is 73 kilometers, starting at the South Yard Parking Lot, passing through Jiaobanshan, Taoyuan Fuxing District and Roma Road, and finally returning to the South Yard Parking Lot.

This is not just a race, but also an excellent opportunity to explore the beautiful scenery of Taoyuan and Hsinchu, challenge your limits, and enjoy the natural landscape and cycling pleasure!

X. Eligible Participants:

Limited to individuals aged 15 and above who are physically and mentally healthy, energetic, and confident in completing the ride within the specified time. Participants under 18 years old must download the parental consent form and submit it to Eventpal via email: service@eventpal.com.tw before the registration deadline.

 

XI. Participation Declaration:

Participants guarantee their physical and mental health. In case of any accidents during the event due to personal factors, participants will take full responsibility. The organizing committee bears no responsibility for such incidents.

XIII. Event Routes

73KM Challenge Category: Shimen Reservoir South Yard Parking Lot → Kangzhuang Road (Provincial Highway 4) → Taoyuan County Road 59-1 → Provincial Highway 7 → Fuxing → Luofu → Shengxing Temple → Roma Road → Guanxi Provincial Highway 3 → Provincial Highway 3 Yiline → Daxi → Shimen Reservoir South Yard Parking Lot

※ If the route encounters road maintenance or other force majeure factors, the organizer reserves the right to change the route.

※ This event is a self-challenge activity, not a competitive race. There is no full traffic control, so cyclists should pay attention to their own safety. Participants must follow the instructions of traffic control personnel to stop or proceed, and follow traffic rules. Those who cannot comply should not register.

※ The finish line closing time is calculated precisely as 6 hours from the starting gun.

※ Participants who fail to pass the checkpoint within the time limit should follow the guidance of staff members and comply with the alternative route planned by the event organizers (there will still be direction signs along the route, and staff members will guide at important intersections), either returning to the venue or boarding the support vehicle.

※ For participants who are stopped at checkpoints or miss intermediate timing chip records, their result certificates will show [Reference] in the rankings.

※ The mileage of supply stations and checkpoints is for reference only; actual locations will be adjusted according to current conditions.

※ Mobile medical support will also be stationed along the cycling route to ensure participant safety.

XVI. Registration Period

Online registration only, from now until August 7, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Registration may close earlier if the participant limit is reached.

※ If payment is not completed within 3 days after registration, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the participant's qualification.

※ After completing the registration process, name changes will not be permitted for any reason.

 

XVII. Registration Rules

1. Please accurately provide participant information including name, date of birth, ID number, and gender when registering. False information that causes unfairness in the event will not be tolerated. If the organizer discovers false information before the event, the participant's qualification will be canceled. If discovered after the event, the participant's results will be canceled and any awards (including medals, certificates, prizes, etc.) must be returned. The participant may not object, and the vacated ranking and awards will be reassigned in sequence.

2. Please carefully fill out the registration information. Once registration is completed, changes to event categories or refund requests will not be accepted.

3. Incomplete payment or insufficient payment will be considered as incomplete registration, and no objections will be accepted.

4. After completing registration and payment, T-shirt sizes cannot be changed. If no T-shirt size is selected during registration, a size L will be provided by default. Size exchanges will not be available, and colors will be provided randomly.

5. This event will process registrations in the order they are received until the participant limit is reached. The event website will announce when "Registration is Closed."

6. Registration is not accepted for individuals under 15 years old. Those aged 15 to under 18 must submit a parental consent form.

7. Team leaders can be participants, but emergency contacts cannot be participants to ensure contact is possible in case of emergency during the event.

8. Groups of 2 or more should register as a team. Team leader name and address must be filled out accurately for mailing purposes.

9. The registration system is linked to an ID verification system. The same person cannot register multiple times. Please be careful not to have someone else register for you while also registering yourself.

10. Before payment, registration information can be modified. After payment, modifications are not possible. Please carefully check your registration information before making payment.

11. Each registration entry has a unique virtual account with identity verification functionality. Different registration entries cannot use the same virtual account for payment. Please pay the correct amount. Insufficient payment will result in the registration remaining unpaid. If excess payment is made and a refund is needed, the handling fee will be borne by the registrant.

 

XVIII. Check-in Method

All check-ins will be done by mail. No on-site check-in is required on the event day.

The organizer will mail the check-in package 1-2 weeks before the event. Please provide an accurate mailing address (do not use P.O. boxes). If the package cannot be delivered due to incomplete address or no one to sign for it, no replacement will be sent. After check-in is complete, please keep your number sticker safe, as lost items will not be replaced.

Once you receive the participation items, check-in is considered complete. Please arrive at the venue on the event day. On-site check-in and item collection will not be available on the event day. Please keep your timing chip, number bib, and other materials safe. If there are any missing items, please report no later than three days before the event; otherwise, they will be considered lost.

Replacement: If your timing chip or number bib is lost or forgotten, you can apply for a new chip and number bib at the event service desk before the start of the race (limited quantity). When applying, you must show the registrant's ID and pay a handling fee of NT$300. Due to the inconvenience of on-site operations on the event day, please leave your mailing address and recipient's name and phone number for later mailing of the fee receipt.

Outer island and foreign participants: Materials can be collected at the event service area on the event day (material handling fee calculated according to the fee table).

Participants without a number bib on the event day will automatically lose their qualification and will not be allowed to enter the event route. Judges have the right to stop participants without number bibs.

 

XX. Payment Methods

【FamilyMart FamiPort】

Payment machine operation: On the payment machine homepage, select "Payment" → "Member Value Payment" → "Eventpal" → Agree to "Read Terms" → Enter [Payment Code] → Confirm "Payment Number" again → Confirm "Payment Amount and Item" → Print payment slip → Pay at the counter within 10 minutes

※ Please note that convenience store payments require a handling fee of NT$30 per transaction under NT$20,000, which must be paid by the participant.

【Credit Card】

For credit card payments, the payment deadline is three hours after ordering. Please complete payment within three hours after successful registration to avoid order expiration and loss of rights.

【JKO Pay】

JKO Pay APP requires bank account linkage setup first.

Currently, for online store transactions, JKO Pay only supports bank accounts and JKO stored value accounts, credit cards are not yet supported.

 

XXI. Refund Application Procedures (Established in accordance with the "Safety Maintenance and Rights Protection Guidelines for Road Running Event Participants" by the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education)

1. If the event cannot be held due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, the organizer may set another event date or refund the registration fee after deducting a handling fee of NT$200 per person and administrative costs. (Administrative costs will be announced separately after calculation)

2. If the event cannot be held due to reasons attributable to the organizer, the organizer shall either set another event date or provide a full refund. If a new event date is set but participants do not wish to participate and apply for a refund, the organizer shall provide a full refund.

3. If participants apply for cancellation and refund from the day after payment until seven days after the organizer's specified payment deadline, the organizer may deduct a 20% handling fee and administrative costs from the registration fee, and refund the remaining amount.

4. If participants apply for cancellation and refund after the period specified in the previous paragraph but before the event materials are sent out, the organizer may deduct a 40% handling fee and administrative costs from the registration fee, and refund the remaining amount.

5. If participants apply for cancellation and refund after the event materials have been sent out, the organizer may not refund the registration fee. However, participants who are unable to participate in the event due to the following reasons may submit supporting documents to apply for cancellation and refund, and the organizer will refund 50% of the total registration fee:

- Natural or man-made disasters

- Transportation disruption

- Military service or educational call-up

- Injury, illness, or pregnancy

- Funeral of a spouse or first-degree relative of the participant

- Other reasons specified by the organizer

※ For refund cancellation, please email Eventpal Customer Service (service@eventpal.com.tw) with the subject line: [Event Name] Refund Application, Order Number & Name of Person Requiring Refund, and provide a photo of the refund account. A staff member will contact you.

 

XXII. Prohibited and Violation Items (Violators will be disqualified, and results will not be calculated)

1. Exchanging timing chips, wearing another person's number bib or chip, or one person carrying two chips are all violations of event rules and will result in disqualification. All results will not be calculated.

2. Number bibs (chips) that are not properly worn, making identity verification impossible, will result in finish line judges prohibiting participants from entering the finish area.

3. Not following the guidance of judges, volunteers, or any event staff.

4. Receiving assistance from others or deviating from the designated route to complete the event. (Such as taking vehicles, etc., not completing the entire course by one's own effort)

5. Violating the spirit and ethics of sports, such as: fighting, insulting judges or event staff, inappropriate behavior, spreading rumors or false statements, or behavior that affects the reputation of the event.

6. Non-registered individuals replacing registered participants or private resale of registrations, substitute riders and those being substituted for will, once confirmed, have their results invalidated by the judges and their names will be published online. (Other participants are welcome to report such violations with concrete evidence.)

7. Those without checkpoint chip detection or without possession of required items will be disqualified without the right to object.

8. Abandoning the race or changing routes without turning in the timing chip to the judges.

 

XXIII. Event and Results Dispute Appeals

1. Event Disputes: During the event, participants may not question judges on the spot. On-site decisions are made by judges and cannot be appealed.

2. Results Disputes: If participants have objections regarding results, please apply to the organizer's timing team for verification and correction. The chief judge's decision is final.

3. Appeal Procedure: Regarding disputes arising during the event, appeals must be submitted to the organizer within 30 minutes after the results of each category are announced, along with a deposit of NT$3,000. The competition committee will issue a receipt, please keep it safe. All appeals will be decided by the judging committee, and their decision is final. If the judging committee determines that the appeal is unreasonable, the deposit will be forfeited.

 

XXIV. Emergency Response Procedures

1. Emergency Medical Planning: Safety maintenance and contingency planning are the most important aspects of the event. A comprehensive safety plan can quickly resolve problems and minimize harm.

2. Each participant at the event is insured with [Public Liability Insurance and Special Activity Insurance].

3. Professional medical units are stationed at the event site.

4. An emergency medical contact network is established - coordinating with local medical units to achieve the fastest emergency rescue.

5. The main medical team will be assisted by a professional medical group, providing personal safety for all participants on the event route and at the main venue.

6. Rain Contingency Planning

- In case of typhoons or natural disasters, information about event postponement or cancellation will be announced through the official event platform.

- If weather forecasts indicate a high probability of rain on the event day during the week before the event, the number of tents at the event venue may be increased as needed.

 

XXV. Insurance Information

1. Please fill out all fields in the registration form accurately. If errors or omissions lead to loss of insurance coverage, you will be responsible.

2. Substitute riders or registration transfers may result in inability to obtain insurance coverage in case of accidents. Related personnel should bear the corresponding legal responsibilities. Please be aware.

3. Registered participants should assess their own condition on the day of the event and participate according to their ability. Please get adequate sleep the day before the event and eat breakfast 2 hours before departure on the day of the event. The organizer provides necessary emergency medical care at the venue. However, symptoms caused by personal medical conditions are not covered by insurance. Public liability insurance only covers compensation for injuries caused by accidents.

4. For this event, the organizer has insured guests, judges, volunteers, and participants with public liability insurance, in accordance with the regulations issued by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of China on November 2, 2015, document number Nei Shou Xiao Zi No. 1040823601.

5. Public Liability Insurance Coverage: When the insured is legally liable for compensation due to the following accidents during the insurance period causing third-party bodily injury, death, or third-party property damage, and receives a claim for compensation, the insurance company is responsible for compensating the insured.

6. Special Exclusions:

- Personal illness leading to sports injuries.

- Symptoms caused by individual constitution or cardiovascular conditions, such as shock, heart conditions, diabetes, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, altitude sickness, epilepsy, dehydration, etc. Symptoms caused by personal medical conditions are not covered by insurance, and public liability insurance only covers compensation for injuries caused by external accidents.

- Participants with a history of illnesses mentioned in the second item are advised to carefully consider their own safety and purchase personal accident insurance.

7. If you have experienced the following medical conditions or have the following disease conditions, you belong to a high-risk group for sudden death. Please consult a doctor's professional judgment and refrain from participating:

- Unexplained chest discomfort (chest tightness, chest pain)

- Unexplained difficulty breathing

- Unexplained dizziness

- Sudden loss of consciousness

- High blood pressure (>140/90 mmHg)

- Heart disease

- Kidney function abnormality

- Diabetes

- High blood lipids (total cholesterol → 240mg/D1)

- Family history of heart disease (first-degree relatives who had heart disease or sudden death before age 60)

- Epilepsy

 

XXVI. Notes

1. This event will proceed as scheduled in case of rain. If there is a heavy rain warning at the event location, or a typhoon announcement resulting in work and class cancellations, or if the organizer announces a postponement, the event will be rescheduled; otherwise, the event will proceed as planned. In case of land or sea typhoon warnings or unavoidable natural disasters, for the safety of participants, the organizer has the right to announce cancellation, postponement, or adjustment of the event route. If the event is postponed or canceled due to natural disasters, the registration fee paid will be refunded after deducting NT$200 and any fees already processed or expenses incurred.

2. Cyclists are prohibited from overtaking the lead vehicle while riding. The cycling route is on regular open roads with normal vehicle traffic. Please follow the directions of traffic control personnel and proceed in the indicated direction. At intersections with traffic lights, participants must stop or proceed according to the instructions of on-site traffic control personnel. Participants must start on time; those who do not start within 20 minutes after the starting gun will be considered to have forfeited their participation. Those who do not complete the event within the specified time will not receive a completion certificate.

3. Not wearing a helmet during the self-challenge period will result in disqualification. Helmets without number stickers will also result in disqualification. Both cases are prohibited from entering the finish area.

4. Although this event is not a competition, the process is based on principles of fairness and honor. If found to be deliberately taking shortcuts, or using methods such as drafting, being transported, etc., to complete the ride, the organizer will not issue a completion certificate and will not record results.

5. Please assess your own abilities before registering. In addition to demonstrating spirit, overcoming difficulties, and breaking through personal limits to achieve goals, please get adequate sleep the day before the event and eat breakfast 2 hours before the event on the day of participation. Avoid starting on an empty stomach to prevent running out of energy midway. In severe cases, low blood sugar may cause momentary fainting and other dangers.

6. Event judges or doctors (medical staff) have the right to stop participants from continuing based on their physical condition. Participants may not object. Participants must consider their own health condition; safety comes first. If feeling unwell, please stop participating immediately. Participants should take responsibility for any accidents that occur during the competition.

7. Participants in this event should pay attention to their health. Those with heart, vascular, diabetes, or other medical histories should not participate.

8. All participants voluntarily participate and are willing to take responsibility for any accidents that may occur during the event. If any injuries, deaths, or other forms of loss occur during the event, they will be handled according to the public liability insurance for this event. All details are subject to the insurance contract with the insuring company and are unrelated to the organizer.

9. The organizer has the right to broadcast, exhibit, or publish videos, photos, and results from the event worldwide, on websites, and in publications. Registration for this event is considered agreement to this regulation.

10. The organizer will not print an event program; please read the official website brochure and notes carefully.

11. This event collects registrants' personal information for purposes directly related to this event, including contact, identification, statistics, insurance, timing chip stickers, and other services, as well as notification of other cycling events organized by the organizer in the future.

12. Safety first; if feeling unwell, please stop riding immediately and ask volunteers for assistance to return to the venue.

13. Please carry identification documents for verification.

14. Please bring your own bicycle to participate in the event. The event is not responsible for bicycle safekeeping. The bicycle used must be equipped with complete front and rear brakes. Water bottle cages are prohibited from hanging "plastic bottles."

15. Participants should not linger on the course before or after passing the finish line, as this affects the safety of other participants entering. If you want to take photos, please move to the photo area on the other side after entering the finish area.

16. Participants in this event and registrants who have completed payment through the registration system are considered to have agreed to all regulations in this event program.

17. This event program and related information will be continuously announced on the Eventpal registration website. If there are any matters not covered, the organizer may supplement and revise them at any time without further notice.
